This Privacy Policy explains how Vetly LLC collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when you use the PawMD mobile application and related PawMD services.
PawMD is owned and operated by Vetly LLC. In this Privacy Policy, “PawMD,” “Vetly LLC,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Vetly LLC.
By using PawMD, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of PawMD, information collected automatically, and information received from service providers and other third parties.
Information You Provide
Account Information
This may include your name, email address, phone number, account credentials, authentication information, and other information used to create, verify, or manage your account.
Pet Information
This may include your pet's:
- Name.
- Species.
- Breed.
- Age or date of birth.
- Weight.
- Sex and reproductive status.
- Photographs.
- Microchip or identification information.
- Vaccination information.
- Medications.
- Allergies.
- Symptoms.
- Medical and health history.
- Behavior information.
- Diet and nutrition information.
- Wellness information.
- Other information you choose to provide.
Product and Pet Care Information
This may include:
- Food scans.
- Treat scans.
- Supplement scans.
- Product scans.
- Ingredient information.
- Product photographs or labels.
- Toxicity checks.
- Safety checks.
- Search activity.
- Scan results and scores.
- Symptoms or health concerns you enter.
- Questions you ask through PawMD.
- Other information submitted through PawMD tools.
Appointments and Telehealth
This may include:
- Appointment requests.
- Appointment dates and times.
- Appointment status.
- Selected Provider.
- Appointment reason.
- Intake information.
- Consultation history.
- Messages.
- Chat content.
- Video or call session information.
- Visit summaries.
- Discharge instructions.
- Treatment plans.
- Prescription-related information.
- Other communications associated with veterinary care.
PawMD does not record audio or video consultations unless a recording feature is expressly enabled and appropriate notice or consent is provided where required.
Community Information
If you participate in Community, we may collect:
- Username.
- Profile image or avatar.
- Posts.
- Questions.
- Photographs.
- Comments.
- Replies.
- Upvotes.
- Reports.
- Moderation information.
- Other Community activity.
Community information you choose to post may be visible to other users as described below.
Payment and Subscription Information
We may collect subscription status, purchase confirmations, transaction history, billing status, and related purchase information.
We do not store full payment card numbers. Payments may be processed by Apple, Google, payment processors, or other billing providers.
Support and Feedback
We may collect messages, support requests, feedback, reviews, survey responses, bug reports, and other communications you send to us.
2. Information Collected Automatically
When you use PawMD, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information.
Device and App Information
This may include:
- Device type.
- Operating system.
- App version.
- Language settings.
- Device identifiers.
- IP address.
- Mobile carrier.
- Browser or technical information where applicable.
Usage Information
This may include:
- Screens viewed.
- Features used.
- Buttons or links selected.
- Session activity.
- Navigation activity.
- Appointment activity.
- Scan activity.
- Community activity.
- Interaction with PawMD features.
Diagnostics
We may collect crash reports, error logs, load times, performance information, and other diagnostic information.
Location
We may determine an approximate location from your IP address.
If you grant PawMD location permission, we may collect more precise location information when needed for location-based features.
Location may be used, for example, to provide geographically relevant functionality, identify nearby services, support veterinary care features, or operate urgent or emergency-related features where available.
You can control location permissions through your device settings.
SDKs and Similar Technologies
We and our service providers may use software development kits, local storage, analytics tools, and similar technologies to:
- Operate PawMD.
- Authenticate users.
- Remember preferences.
- Analyze performance.
- Detect errors.
- Improve security.
- Prevent fraud.
- Understand how features are used.
3. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- Provide and operate PawMD.
- Create and manage accounts.
- Create and maintain pet profiles.
- Store and organize pet health information.
- Provide PawScan, Pawla Chat, food scanning, product scanning, toxicity tools, symptom tools, and similar features.
- Facilitate veterinary appointments and Telehealth.
- Connect users with veterinary Providers where available.
- Facilitate prescriptions, pharmacy fulfillment, laboratory services, and related care coordination.
- Provide urgent or emergency-related functionality where available.
- Operate and moderate Community.
- Process subscriptions and purchases.
- Send appointment, account, security, service, and other transactional communications.
- Provide customer support.
- Personalize and improve PawMD.
- Analyze usage and performance.
- Develop new features and services.
- Detect fraud, abuse, security threats, and unlawful activity.
- Enforce our Terms of Service and Community rules.
- Comply with legal obligations.
- Protect PawMD, Vetly LLC, our users, Providers, and others.
- Create and use de-identified, anonymized, or aggregated information as described below.
4. AI and Automated Features
PawMD includes automated and AI-powered features such as PawScan, Pawla Chat, food scanning, product analysis, symptom tools, toxicity tools, and similar functionality.
Information submitted to these features may include:
- Questions.
- Pet information.
- Symptoms.
- Health history.
- Images.
- Product labels.
- Food labels.
- Documents.
- Other content you choose to submit.
Some AI Features may rely on third-party AI service providers.
When a feature uses a third-party AI service provider, information necessary to process your request may be transmitted to that provider.
Where required by applicable law or app-store requirements, we will provide appropriate disclosure and obtain permission before transmitting personal information to a third-party AI provider.
We require service providers handling personal information on our behalf to protect that information and use it only for authorized purposes.
We do not authorize third-party AI service providers to use personal information provided through PawMD for their independent advertising or marketing purposes.
We may use de-identified or aggregated information to improve PawMD's AI Features, performance, safety, and functionality.
We do not use SMS opt-in information or SMS consent information to train AI models.
5. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to provide PawMD and its features.
Service Providers
We may disclose information to vendors and service providers that perform services on our behalf, including providers of:
- Cloud hosting.
- Databases and storage.
- Analytics.
- Authentication.
- Customer support.
- Communications.
- SMS services.
- Email services.
- Telehealth technology.
- Video communication.
- Security.
- Moderation.
- AI processing.
- Payment processing.
- Other technology services.
We require service providers that process personal information on our behalf to provide privacy and security protections appropriate to the information they receive and to use the information only for authorized purposes.
Veterinary Providers
If you request veterinary care or communicate with a Provider through PawMD, we may disclose information reasonably necessary to support:
- Appointments.
- Telehealth.
- Veterinary evaluation.
- Care coordination.
- Treatment.
- Records.
- Prescriptions.
- Follow-up care.
Providers may maintain their own veterinary records and may have independent legal, professional, and privacy obligations.
Pharmacies, Laboratories, and Care Partners
When you request services involving prescriptions, medications, laboratory testing, fulfillment, or related care, we may disclose information necessary to provide those services.
This may include:
- Owner information.
- Pet information.
- Shipping information.
- Prescription information.
- Medication information.
- Provider information.
- Other information necessary to complete the requested service.
Payment Providers and App Stores
We may share information necessary to process purchases, confirm subscriptions, manage payments, prevent fraud, or respond to purchase-related requests.
Legal, Safety, and Security
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law.
- Respond to valid legal process.
- Protect rights or property.
- Protect a person or animal from a serious safety risk.
- Investigate fraud or abuse.
- Protect PawMD or our systems.
- Enforce our agreements or policies.
Business Transactions
Information may be disclosed or transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, bankruptcy, due diligence process, or other business transaction.
At Your Direction
We may disclose information when you request, authorize, or direct us to do so.
6. Community and Public Information
Community is a public or shared area of PawMD.
Information you post to Community may be visible to other PawMD users.
This may include your:
- Username.
- Avatar or profile image.
- Posts.
- Questions.
- Photographs.
- Comments.
- Replies.
- Upvotes.
- Other public Community activity.
Do not post personal, confidential, financial, veterinary, or other information that you do not want other Community users to see.
Other users may view, screenshot, copy, or otherwise interact with information you make public.
Deleting Community Content may remove it from public display, but copies may remain temporarily in backups, moderation records, security systems, or other records where reasonably necessary.
7. De-Identified and Aggregated Information
We may create de-identified, anonymized, or aggregated information from information collected through PawMD.
This information may relate to:
- Pet species and breed categories.
- Age and weight ranges.
- Food and product scans.
- Ingredients.
- Treat and supplement scans.
- Toxicity checks.
- Symptom categories.
- Appointment reasons.
- Medication categories.
- Telehealth usage.
- Community usage.
- Care patterns.
- Feature usage.
- General pet health and product trends.
We may use, analyze, disclose, license, commercialize, or otherwise use this information for lawful purposes when it does not reasonably identify an individual user, household, or specific pet.
These purposes may include:
- Analytics.
- Research.
- Product development.
- AI improvement.
- Benchmarking.
- Business planning.
- Market research.
- Industry reports.
- Partnerships.
- Commercial insights.
We do not sell directly identifying personal information as part of these de-identified or aggregated commercial insights.
We take reasonable measures designed to prevent de-identified information from being associated with a particular user or pet.
We do not attempt to re-identify de-identified information except where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, testing, or validation of our de-identification processes.
8. Device Permissions and Tracking
PawMD may request access to device features including:
Camera
For pet photographs, PawScan, food and product scanning, document uploads, Community posts, and Telehealth.
Photo Library
For uploading pet photographs, records, product images, labels, documents, and Community Content.
Microphone
For Telehealth and communication features.
Location
For location-based features where available.
Notifications
For appointment reminders, messages, account alerts, Community activity, and service notifications.
You can control these permissions through your device settings.
If you disable a permission, features that depend on it may not function properly.
Tracking
If PawMD engages in activity considered “tracking” under applicable app-store rules, we will request permission where required.
If you do not grant required tracking permission, we will not engage in that tracking.
Our App Store and Google Play privacy disclosures may provide additional information about data collected through PawMD and how that information is used.
9. SMS and Communications
If you provide your mobile number and opt in to SMS communications, we may use your number to send service-related messages.
These may include:
- Appointment reminders.
- Appointment confirmations.
- Appointment updates.
- Message alerts.
- Account alerts.
- Security notifications.
- Other transactional communications.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
You may reply STOP to opt out of SMS communications and HELP for help.
Mobile opt-in information and SMS consent information will not be sold, rented, licensed, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their independent marketing or promotional purposes.
We may provide mobile information to service providers as necessary to deliver messages, operate PawMD, prevent fraud, maintain security, or comply with law.
10. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Retention may be necessary to:
- Provide PawMD.
- Maintain your account.
- Complete transactions.
- Support veterinary care.
- Comply with legal or regulatory obligations.
- Maintain Provider or care-related records where applicable.
- Prevent fraud or abuse.
- Maintain security.
- Resolve disputes.
- Enforce agreements.
- Maintain moderation records.
- Maintain reasonable backups.
When information is no longer reasonably necessary, we may delete, anonymize, or de-identify it.
De-identified and aggregated information may be retained for longer periods because it no longer reasonably identifies an individual user or specific pet.
Independent veterinary Providers, pharmacies, laboratories, or other third parties may retain information according to their own legal, professional, and recordkeeping obligations.
11. Account Deletion and Your Choices
Account Information
You may review or update certain account and pet information through PawMD.
Account Deletion
If you have a PawMD account, you may initiate account deletion through the account deletion functionality available in the PawMD app or web app.
You may also request account and associated data deletion by contacting pawmd@myvetly.com.
Deleting an account does not necessarily require deletion of information that we are legally required or permitted to retain.
Information may continue to be retained where reasonably necessary for:
- Legal obligations.
- Veterinary or Provider recordkeeping.
- Completed transactions.
- Fraud prevention.
- Security.
- Disputes.
- Enforcement.
- Community moderation.
- Backups.
Information that has already been de-identified or aggregated may also be retained.
Marketing Emails
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link provided in those messages.
You may continue to receive transactional, security, legal, account, or service communications.
Push Notifications
You may disable push notifications through your device settings.
Device Permissions
You may manage camera, photo library, microphone, location, and other permissions through your device settings.
12. Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and whether a particular privacy law applies to Vetly LLC or your information, you may have rights concerning your personal information.
These rights may include the right to:
- Request access to certain personal information.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion.
- Obtain a copy of certain information.
- Request information about how personal information is used or disclosed.
- Opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling where applicable.
- Appeal certain decisions regarding a privacy request where applicable.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Where permitted by law, an authorized agent may submit certain requests on your behalf.
We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Where required by applicable law, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, for applicable web-based data processing.
13. Children and Age Requirements
PawMD accounts are intended for individuals who are at least 18 years old.
We do not knowingly permit individuals under 18 to create PawMD accounts.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
If we learn that we collected personal information from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Parents or legal guardians who believe a child has provided personal information to PawMD may contact us at pawmd@myvetly.com.
14. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
No electronic transmission, storage system, application, or security measure can guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and maintaining the security of devices used to access PawMD.
If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us promptly.
15. Access Outside the United States
PawMD may be accessible outside the United States.
However, certain PawMD features may only be available in particular locations or jurisdictions.
In particular, Telehealth, prescriptions, veterinary care, and other regulated services are available only where the applicable Provider and service are legally permitted to operate.
If you use PawMD outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, processed in, or stored in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate.
16. Third-Party Services
PawMD may connect to or interact with services operated by third parties, including:
- Veterinary Providers.
- Pharmacies.
- Laboratories.
- Payment providers.
- App stores.
- Authentication providers.
- Telehealth technology providers.
- Other services selected or requested by you.
Third parties may have their own privacy practices and legal obligations.
This Privacy Policy applies to Vetly LLC's handling of information. It does not control the independent privacy practices of third parties.
17. Veterinary Information and HIPAA
PawMD involves pet health information and veterinary care information.
Pet and veterinary records generally are not human health information regulated by HIPAA.
Veterinary Providers, pharmacies, laboratories, and other third parties may have separate confidentiality, recordkeeping, professional, or privacy obligations.
This Privacy Policy describes Vetly LLC's privacy practices and does not replace the independent legal obligations of veterinary Providers or other third parties.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as PawMD changes or as legal, regulatory, security, or operational requirements evolve.
When we update the Privacy Policy, we will revise the “Last Revised” date.
Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before material changes take effect.
